Our Story
Nestled just 3km from Dullstroom, Millstream Farm has evolved from its humble beginnings into one of South Africa’s premier getaways. Steeped in history and rich in heritage, our farm is more than just a destination—it’s a place where nature’s beauty meets cherished family traditions.
Today, Millstream Farm continues to honour its heritage while embracing modern comforts. Guests can enjoy fly-fishing in our nine well-stocked lakes, dams ponds and river weirs dams, hiking scenic trails, birdwatching, horseback riding, game viewing and simply unwinding in the beauty of nature.
Just a short drive from Dullstroom’s famous restaurants, whiskey bars, and boutique shops, Millstream Farm remains a cornerstone of the Highlands Meander, where tradition and adventure come together.

Environmental Development Projects
-
Research Collaborations: Millstream Farm provides accommodation and access to our property for master's students from the University of Pretoria. Notably, research has been conducted on the African clawless otter and other predators, focusing on their impact on trout populations.
-
Fundraising Support: We contribute to local fundraising efforts by donating our trout waters for fishing competitions and offering complimentary accommodation as prizes. Events we support include the Men's and Ladies Fly Fishing Competitions annually.
-
Alien Species Eradication: Since 1997, we've been committed to removing invasive vegetation, such as Black Wattle and eucalyptus, and replanting indigenous species. Our goal is to reduce the eucalyptus population to less than 10% of the total tree population by 2025. We also target other invasive plants like Verbena brasiliensis, Cotoneaster, Inkberry, Scottish Thistle, and Prickly Pear. To achieve this, we employ the local Platorand Area Fire Protection Association (PAFPA) during the late summer season to assist in removing invasive vegetation.

-
Sakhelwe Clinic Support: We enhance local healthcare services by donating essential items such as curtains, linen, blankets, cutlery, and crockery. Additionally, we facilitate the donation of hospital beds from Nelspruit Hospital to improve patient care.
-
Swimming Lessons for Children: Every Friday, we offer swimming lessons to local children, promoting water safety and encouraging physical activity within the community.

Millstream Farm donates its trout waters for fishing competitions and/ or offering free accommodation at Millstream Farm as a prize for the fundraiser.
