Flexible Angling Options:

To enhance your fishing experience on our scenic waters the use of waders and kick boats is permitted in certain waters and there are also boats available on Lake Millstream. 

No Licenses Required:

Anglers do not need a Mpumalanga provincial fishing license, but our waters are exclusively reserved for Millstream Farm residents.

Year-Round Fishing:

With no restricted seasons, Millstream Farm is the perfect destination for trout fishing any time of the year, with 12 river weirs, 3 medium ponds, 4 large dams, 1 medium lake (Lake Crystabel) and 1 very large lake.​

Trophy Dams:

Lake Crystabel and Solitary Reaper Dam are designated trophy waters, stocked with larger fish for catch-and-release angling, offering a unique challenge for avid anglers.​​

Rules of Angling at Millstream Farm

To ensure the best experience for all guests, please adhere to these rules:

Bag Limits

Anglers may keep up to 15 fish per five-bedroom house per week (or pro-rata for smaller cottages or shorter stays).

Catch and Release

There is no limit to the number of fish caught, provided they are correctly released.

Boating

Boats are available for hire at Reception and must be operated with oars or flippers only.

Private boats are prohibited, except for kick boats. Maintain a distance of at least 50m from bank or wading anglers.

Equipment

Only fly casting rods with appropriate fly line and leader are permitted. Only artificial flies  are permitted.

Rod Limits

The number of active anglers is limited to the size of the house they occupy.

Size and Species Restrictions

There are no size limits on fish, except for those in trophy dams or protected species.

Fishing Facilities and Extras

​Fishing Lessons and Equipment Hire

Fly rods are available for hire at Reception.

Beginners can join our free Saturday demonstrations at 10:00 AM on the Recreation Centre lawn or book individual lessons for a personalized experience.

Boating Guidelines

Boats are available for up to 3 hours at a time.

Life jackets are provided at Reception and must be worn for safety. Boats are only to be used on Lake Millstream
